Katherinne Fiedler (Lima, 1982)
In recent years, her work has focused on exploring the blurred boundaries between nature and culture, emphasizing their dissolution as a binary concept, as well as the ongoing social and affective disputes that shape political geography. Through a multidisciplinary artistic practice, she investigates the symbolic power and the physical and semantic qualities inherent in various elements of nature and remains from the landscape—primarily from the subsoil—such as ceramics, textiles, fossils, and shells, alongside artificial or processed materials as cultural residues. By combining these elements, she delves into social, affective, and ecological concepts, highlighting the interrelations we share with other organisms and ecosystems.

She holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona (2007) and has received significant awards and prestigious grants, including
the“Leonardo Grant for Creators and Researchers” from the BBVA Foundation (2023) and the CIFO Emerging Artist Grant (2017), among others. She has also participated in several artistic residencies, such as Bilbaoarte (Bilbao, 2023), Hawapi (Conga, Peru, 2019), Utopiana (Switzerland, supported by the Pro Helvetia South America Scholarship), Casa de Velázquez (Madrid, 2018), LARA (Panama, 2017), and FLORA ars+natura (Bogotá, 2016). Her solo exhibitions include Guardianes at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Lima (MAC), curated by José Carlos Mariátegui; Lo inmenso y lo pequeño, curated by Miguel A. López (Galería del Paseo, 2022); El Futuro de la Memoria(Galería del Paseo, 2019); and Ficción Variable (La Galería, 2015).
